English Expo
English Expo of New Mexico is a non-profit educational organization which sponsors English Language Arts activities in the State of New Mexico and offers professional development for educators. Incorporated as an independent non-profit organization in 2018, English Expo began in 1989 when a group of educators brought to life the vision of creating an academic competition highlighting skills in the English Language Arts.
NM State Parks Outdoor Education
Standards-based learning opportunities abound at New Mexico State Parks. Since 2007, the State Parks Outdoor Classroom Program has provided meaningful, hands-on experiences for 166,000 students statewide. With 34 outdoor classrooms across the state, and many cultural and natural resources, State Parks provide a safe, friendly environment for outdoor learning that ties to classroom study.
National History Day
Each year more than half a million students participate in the National History Day Contest. Students choose a historical topic related to the annual theme, and then conduct primary and secondary research. You will look through libraries, archives and museums, conduct oral history interviews, and visit historic sites. After you have analyzed and interpreted your sources, and have drawn a conclusion about the significance of your topic, you will then be able to present your work in one of five ways: as a paper, an exhibit, a performance, a documentary, or a website.
